Re: Berlingo diesel VTR with the wrong engine in.
We don't need any of that - just the VIN (which is masked to all but Forum Staff anyway). The general consensus is that we really don't understand what your problem or issue is - it's not at all clear from your original post.
Secondly, the VTR is not an engine it's a model trim level, like LX, SX or Exclusive. Another reason why we asked for the VIN - which is on the outside bottom left of the windscreen, and on the engine block.
Last - I'm using a 28" Widescreen monitor - nothing wrong with reading your post - it just doesn't make any sense I'm afraid, without some more information.

["we really don't understand what your problem or issue is"].
Two very simple questions;
1. Which other Citroen or Peugeot has this superb engine?
2. I have got an over-powered car which would be dangerous in inexperienced hands. Any suggestions? (Have it detuned it before I sell it- how?)
Marc,
As I hope you are beginning to realise, my 'VTR Specification' (not 'VT', not 'XTR') Berlingo is not standard. The UK Registration Certificate's data is not relevant. Please help me.
There is nothing on the bottom left of the windscreen, but 7 lines of stuff on the bottom right:
AGC AUTOMOTIVE
E6 43R-008954
DOT-24 M122 A51
CCC E000255 20C
.... 4
.....
818 112
Whereabouts on the engine block would I find the engine no.?

Re: Berlingo diesel VTR with the wrong engine in.
There are another two locations I can think of where you can find the VIN. One will be in the lip of a wing, normally covered by the bonnet, while the other may be under a rear seat. Failing those, try the V5 logbook.

This might help...
Catch 22 is that there are several Berlingo variants, and without the VIN, it's difficult to pull up the right Labels diagram first time!
VIN label is #10 in the diagram.

The VIN is not UK specific, it is an international identification for all modern vehicles.
Give Marc the VIN and you will get all you need about your vehicle's specification.

Re: Berlingo diesel VTR with the wrong engine in.
The VIN is, effectively, the serial number for the car, and will be unique to that vehicle.

Ok, as an example it is usually displayed here in the little window bottom left of the windscreen - but not on the actual windscreen if that makes sense: But if you cannot locate it, then the registration will do (which I will delete after).

Re: Berlingo diesel VTR with the wrong engine in.
I understand that everyone's trying to help, what I don't understand is why no one understands what is being asked. pjbw wants toidentify the possibly non-original,certainly non-standard engine in his Burly, because he'd be interested in aquiring a specimen of a model in which it is standard.
Something of a side issue is his position using/selling a car with undeclared, & possibly unidentifiable, modifications. Same as anyone one else that has a hot rod, street racer, whatever, I would've thought.
VIN's can be useful but are certainly not 100% reliable (my Xantia's e.g. says it's a 2007!) particularly as they appear in a V5C! In any event it'sunlikely to help if the car's a prototype or a development mule & certainly won't if it's had an engine swap. Now the engine No: THAT might be interesting - especially if it's different to the one in the V5C!

Re: Berlingo diesel VTR with the wrong engine in.
That's why we want the VIN!!
If it's had another engine in then we would need it off the block to determine the engine type. I've always found the VIN to be 100% accurate. Without this it could be any one of a number of engines.

Re: Berlingo diesel VTR with the wrong engine in.
Marc is right: the VIN is essential to compare what should be there for a normal production vehicle (or otherwise), and what is actually under the bonnet/hood.
It's not usually a problem to find a vehicle's VIN, which is why we can't progress.

If it's a matter of putting your VIN on the forum - it will be hidden automatically from public view.
You can of course send a private message (but don't include the VIN in it as I won't be able to read it, however wherever possible we prefer to deal with technical issues and information via the forum so it benefits others.
If there are specific reasons, by all means send me a private message or an email using the contact tab under my Avatar, so I can determine if I can help or not.

Re: Berlingo diesel VTR with the wrong engine in.
Your post is generating a lot of interest for two reasons:
1 - It's an unusual query/problem
2 - As a technical forum, we aim to help solve members' problems as speedily as possible.
Having access to the VIN is often an essential part of this, in this case because it is the only way to know how the vehicle left the factory.
I'll publish my own VIN here: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].
You won't be able to read it, but the small team of forum staff (of which Marc and I are two) can.
Unless we have your VIN number, there really isn't much help any of us will be able to provide. The same would go for PSA themselves.

If you're already convinced this is not the Standard engine that would normally be in this car maybe put some pictures up of the enginebay and it's engine and details
