I guess that's the place where steering axle goes in the countries where they drive on the wrong side of the road.
And some say at finnish forum that there's also readymade hole for big cable in the drivers footwell.

Just don't try driving on the 'proper' side of the road in the UK :rofl2:

Yes, that looks like the 'proper' :-D place for the steering column and may well be a suitable location with some good grommet protection.

So that picture is taken on the passengers side, near the gearbox tunnel behind the carpet right? Or is it on the wheel side?

Yes thats from passenger side and gearbox tunnel is there on the left side of the picture. I didn't take that picture, but seems very familiar.

But I'd look also to the driver side footwell carefully if there's that hole you don't even have to drill.

Some news from the battlefront:
I've found two holes with rubber covers in the passenger footwell, and they look like places for running a loom (probably on the rhd cars).

Does anyone believe this could be used?

Make sure to get a rubber grommet into one of those holes to protect the wiring as it passes through, otherwise you could have electrical issues later on.

My only problem right now is that both holes look like they don't have another hole in the inside.
I try to put the cable but it seems as there is no connection to the other side...
Should it be like this and I need to open an hole on the other side? Where should this holes run to?
Best regards,
AJ

Hello.
Just made hole in same place as photo from Finnish forum.

Xantippa:
In the Finnish forum they make any reference how to go from this hole to the engine compartment?
From the google translate I can't understand what's the next step ...

Best regards,
AJ

I think he just used drill with angle drive to drill that readymade hole all the way to the engine compartment. Other picture shows place where the hole is in the engine compartment. He made the hole for interior heater cable and that cable is armoured and visible in the center of the second picture.

Thanks Xantippa.
Maybe my problem is the angle. I was trying to open the hole "straight ahead"
I'll look at it with an angle driver and with the car lifted.
Once again thanks for your kind help.

Hello everybody.
With the car on a ramp and without the lower protection it was much easier to confirm the hole and pass the cable.
Thank you very much to you all for the kind help and smart advices how to deal with this job.
Best regards and an happy Easter from Portugal.
