Re: Haynes Breakfast Club NEXT meeting Calling all Cars
I'm generally in agreement with those sentiments but, for my part, I didn't leave - I was prevented from renewing my membership, simply because they made it too difficult (bit like finding the venues for their meetings really ).

Re: Haynes Breakfast Club NEXT meeting Calling all Cars
What an absolutely fantastic meeting Very highly recommended to visit. An incredible range of cars turned up, classics of every flavour imaginable...
I'll post a few pictures later when I'm back home.
Will definitely be going again.
The cafe served up the most incredible looking breakfast which Alasdair tells me was heavenly! I just had a very lovely latte served in a proper mug and an orange....
Delighted to meet Kev (Red Dwarfers) there in his GS
An ideal spot to hold a Citroen rally perhaps?

Re: Haynes Breakfast Club NEXT meeting Calling all Cars
Wish I'd gone now (although it would've had to be in the Cadillac) rather than the Route 66 Meeting - at a sight near Bournemouth airport - very disappointing!
BUT I did meet some loonies who go on impossible trip in unsuitable cars, e.g. Mongolia in a Punto, next stop Africa, via the Arctic Circle! - then he wants to take it to Japan. Someone else planning to go round the world - in the Focus estate he was in?
Tempted to get in with them - & take the C15 somewhere more exciting than Berlin

Now if you were to see this beauty in the Haynes meet - please let me know!
Unbelievable - they can do the NX-01, the NCC-1701 A-D, but no C5-X7

Re: Haynes Breakfast Club NEXT meeting Calling all Cars
Well, I am a bit peeved. I parked my Asp Explorer up last night, and when I came out this morning some yobs had re-sprayed it. It had been a nice Vibrant Purple, now it is RED!!

OK, somebody who plays "Elite: Dangerous" did a bit of work in Photoshop, but it is correctly scaled. The Asp Explorer is supposed to be 56 meters long, and (if you look in the upper deck of the cockpit) you can see a pilot sitting in the command seat.

Re: Haynes Breakfast Club NEXT meeting Calling all Cars
That, Steve, is a Lakon Spaceways Asp Explorer, from the game "Elite: Dangerous". It is a medium size multi role spaceship (but with strong exploration capabilities). I have one in the game, Vibrant Purple, and she is quick and agile (I have called mine The Curious Cricket), and it is fun to fly.
Whoever did that Photoshop work got the dimensions/positioning correct. It is 56.5 meters long, 51.3 meters wide, and 19.7 meters high. I popped it in because there was mention of taking the starship USS Enterprise to a Haynes meet.
