I moved into that house in mid 1989 and left in late 1990, good call.

anyway, if any ones got any more location for bits and bobs that you can see in the photo, let me know so i can add them, and can someone send me a PM to see iv i can receive them please
Try and locate the GLOW PLUG if you can, i know it may sound painfull etc. The same happened to me and the bloddy thing, after months nearly took the pulleys off, i was fortunate as it only ripped the fan belt.
Proves how long its been since i came and had a look around the citroen side of the forums, I've only just noticed my post being stickied lol
Found the glow plug eventually after i got the car started again, it rattled its self clear and dropped on the floor, a spanner however went on a rather large 500mile round trip to hunstanton then followed the coast around to Yarmouth and back to wellingborough, it was only the next day when the throttle cable snapped when starting it in the morning, did it pop out and land on the floor
In away i miss my Xantia, mainly due to the funky way you could lower it with out having to get new springs, but i'm also glad i have my 406 now as its much more reliable. 13 months i had my Xant, 13 months i was fixing something lol.
Ive now had my 406 for 12 months, and I've only had to get 2 new tires and replace the exhaust system and sort out a speedo that refused to work, only other problem i have is the fans fail to come on at temperature. but I've rigged a switch inside the car to do it manually.
I thank my Xantia for one thing though, if it didn't give me problems, i never would of found this place and never would of met 2 of the best people ever, Citrojim or Xaccers.
Unfortunately i had no choice but to get rid of the Xant had a baby on the way and just needed a more reliable car, so gambled on a 406 and it payed off.
Glad this post is still helping people out.

Re: The "Know Your Citroen Engine Thread"
Good idea but for it to be logical Captain you would really need a thread for each model / engine bay or at least the rarer ones
I will do a Xantia 2.1 TD (S2) if anyone needs it - someone will have to grid it up though - far too technical that
