Having issues logging in on Google Chrome, as I attempt login, it just goes back to the login page, asking for username and password (login details are correct - doesn't throw up the password incorrect message).

Login works OK on IE

I hope that this issue is now resolved, it may have been a one-off due to a minor change I made to the site cookie config this morning, or it could be something deeper in the system.

If it happens again, send us a message using the "contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

I haven't been able to log in with either Google Chrome on Windows 7 or Safari on iPhone all day - after an attempt to log in I just get thrown back to the main page logged out again. I'm still seeing the problem right now. (I used IE to post this)

Not sure if its related but both Chrome and Safari disable 3rd party cookies by default...

I had same issue with Chrome, not tried anything else. I regularly run CC Cleaner to remove cookies, but have French car forum in the 'keep' list. Took it out of keep list, ran cleaner and all is now fine. So it looks like you need to remove the old cookie.

I have just cleared the server session cache, which I should have done this morning, but forgot about the function because I have never had to use it before...

I have made another server adjustment which seems to fix the operation of Chrome for me.

After you cleared the session cache I was unable to log in with any browser, including IE. After the latest change I can log in with IE but once again cannot log in with Chrome or Safari.

I have reverted some more server settings, and may have learned something about some undocumented side-effects of one of them...

Lets see how it is now.

That seems to have done the trick. I can log in with Chrome and IE on Windows and Safari on iPhone without issues. :) I tried logging back out and in again on each to double check.

Is there any connection to the issue I reported in another thread where I get logged out unexpectedly on Safari on iPhone ? Not all the time, but maybe 2-3 times a day for the last few weeks when I follow a forum notification email I find myself being prompted to log in again. This was still happening up until today when I couldn't log in at all.

I don't think so, because you reported that before I made any related configuration changes. Let us know if that behaviour is still there and I will see if I can convince myself to use an iphone...

I've been having problems getting on with tapatalk but after 3 reboots of the phone and wiping out tapatalk app then reloading it now ok. No other forum on tapatalk was affected.

On desktop Windows, simply clearing cookies solved the log-in problem.
On iPad, had to clear browsing history and cookies in both Safari and Google.
Now both working ok.

I had to clear the cookies on Firefox running under Ubuntu before I could log on but found no need to do so on my Windows Phone...

Not tried my Windows laptops yet or my Ubuntu laptop...
