Hi guys

A forum for new members to introduce themselves to the rabble already onboard. Not compulsory!
Tell us a little about yourself, lie if you have to but keep it to just an introduction, not a car discussion.

Hi guys

Post by ohyes »

Hello dear French car lovers,

For me it's a new thing to register on such forum, but so far I'm feeling really excited about this, not only because it's a new thing to me but also because I fell inlove with my new Citroen C5. So far I had 3 vehicles and recently I got C5 2.7 HDI automatic. I really like this car and I enjoy riding it. It really changed the way I see French vehicles. I'm not saying that I had something against them, it's just I was a german auto lover for years until recently. :) Skipping the long intro, my car comes with full options (as far as I know): dynamic xenons; massage, heated, memory seats with stitched leather; stitched leather front dashboard; lcd screen with navi; ambient lighting; hifi audo; auto-holding on lanes; parking senosrs front & back; alcantara roof :?: and so on.. It has an automatic 6 gearbox.

My experience driving this vehicle is really amazing. The softness of this vehicle and stabillity is outstanding. I havent felt such a soft and comfortable vehicle never before. I give my thumbs up!! =D>

So that's my short intro and short overview of my vehicle. I registered on this forum just to discuss with people who also have this feeling about French vehicles. :)

Have a nice day :)

I bet you are really hooked now :) .....one of the rare motoring revelations to those who have never had one before.
There is not much in the world that is new in Cars, with many never having had the experience of a Citroen (as they should be) it is one of the few things left to surprise people.

Enjoy.

Nice engine as well...Bonus

One thing you may not of been told/noticed in the book....when you jack up the car to change tyres etc...ALWAYS set the suspension to HIGH and remove the LDS cap, only then jack it up. This protects the LDS tank and strut seals.

Very much agreed :)

Oh man, I didn't knew this. Too bad I got my car raised up 3 times already.
By jacking up do you mean lifting it up with a speacial elevator? (similar like in the pic?)

Should I check something now to see if something has gone wrong?

Yes....ANY time the car is lifted. Either with a lift (as shown) or with a trolley jack (as used by Tyre change )

Once or twice and you should be OK....you would KNOW if the LDS tank had split :)

Well, thanks for letting me know that. Unfortunately, people working in the vehicle service were too dumb to know this. :(
Hopefully, I will not find any leakage near the tank nor the engine tomorrow. I'll check just to be sure. It's a new car so I'm being really safe and curious about everything. :D

Btw, the LDS tank cap is located in......? :) (tried searching but images in google sometimes may be misleading)

Thanks in advance :) Have a nice friday!

On my C5 MK1 the LDS tank is located under the left side engine cover (looking into the engine bay while standing in front of the car), and this cover may need to taken off to access the LDS tank and cap.

A further clue is that (certainly on mine) the cover has the title "Hydractive 3" on it (if your car has the Sport button this might be "Hydractive 3+").

It has. Too bad it's already getting dark outside so it's definitely not the best time to do some checking. Probably I'll wait for tomorrow. :D Thanks!

As you undo it....it is a pressurised tank (low pressure, not like the water coolant tank.
