Forum Software Update 23/09/2015

Post by xantia_v6 »

I will be performing a minor software upgrade on the forum on Wednesday morning, starting sometime between 7:00 and 8:00 BST.

The forum will be off-line for up to 30 minutes during the upgrade.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

The upgrade has now been completed.

This was just a maintenance release, so no new features this time.

The only difference visble to users is that the mouse-over topic preview on the forum index pages now has a dark background.

Like an old schooler, I use my browsing history to re-open this Forum's front page. Depending on the other topic headings, the Index may be almost anywhere within the collated URLs of specific pages within the site.

Can there be a tweak to the index page somehow, so it is pretty much guaranteed to come top of the list?

I can see where you're coming from Adam but I'm not sure... Do as I do and have it as one of my default tabs so it always opens on the index page as soon as you open your browser...

If I have understood correctly, then that is browser behavior, not something we can control.

You can of course click on the banner text at the top of every page to go back to the index, or use the Active Topics button at the top right to see what has been going on while you were away...

Lately I have been using the "Unread Posts" button for that as it falls nicely to hand.
