Hi There
Just signed up to the forum, so a few words of intro.
I bought a couple of Renault R4s back in '72 to cobble into one for a g/f. The saloon dated from '62 and ended up as a 750cc three speed. Since then I have had around 10 R4s, 1 R12, 3 R5s and currently run an Espace 3 and a first series Twingo. There were a couple of 2CVs somewhere in there too.
We live in S.W. France near the coast and I do some metal fabrication for a crust. Past history includes light aircraft and sailing boats. Built two cars from scratch, one with a blown Renault engine, so worth a mention here.

Re: Hi There
Hello, and welcome to the Forum I won't be able to help on the Renaults, as I have no experience of them, but others have and will be able to offer advise.

Welcome
I ran R4s as a teenager.... Love 'em to bits...
That was way back in the 70s now so my memory of them is a bit dim but I still nave a Haynes Manual for them

Hi Citro
Out shopping this morning and a very nice example in the car park. A lot are still in daily use here. No salt on the roads helps... Even the Suoermarket owner uses an R4 van as his local transport ( along with an Audi A6)

Re: Hi There
That's good to hear Andrew
I still miss mine nearly 40 years on and I can well understand a lot of people holding on to them...
I like to feel I have the next best thing in a C1 but that won't do as an R4 will - such as carry two automatic washing machine in the cargo area!

Re: Hi There
I was just hoping, probably in vain, that I might find some idiots that had pooled their brain cells from a vague connection with French cars and I might find something in common with. Plus, the seemingly less likely chance that I could find a solution to the odd probs that I have with them.
I will keep looking here in hope )...

Nice to know you... But I have a enduring faith in the better possibilities of mankind. So I will wait until some better examples admit to ownership of french voitures.Stickyfinger wrote:Troll posting Alert....he thinks we have brain cells.....LOL
