Forum Maintenance - Friday 3rd April

Post by CitroJim »

I shall be taking the forum down early in the morning of Good Friday to install a whole raft of patches and updates to the forum web and database servers...

I expect the work to take place at around 05:00 BST and take about 30 minutes...

I apologise here and now for any inconvenience this may cause...

No need to apologise Jim. I'm sure I speak from everyone that we appreciate the work you do in the early hours to keep our forum going. You deserve a medal, made out of a cut down V6 piston [emoji844] [emoji4]

So very true indeed.

I must correct you though Davie, these "early hours" of which you speak are actually Jim's mid-morning break..

After he has gone out and woken up the sparrows and cockerels, and put the owls to bed! Then he nips off to wake up the milkmen and bakers.

Aww James  Now you've let the cat out of the bag as to what keeps me so busy in the mornings... All this talk of karate practice and swimming was just a cover story....

No it isn't. You have mugged Doctor Who, and convinced him you are allowed to have 32 hours in a day, which is why you sometimes appear to be in a blur!

Folks, there will be a short outage again at around 04:30 on Saturday morning whilst I resolve a small issue with the web sever as a result of enhanced security protection mechanisms introduced with the latest updates.

You may not even see the forums go down...

Touch wood...
