Hi From Fleet in Hampshire

Post by belfast »

Hi Folks,

Born in Belfast, but moved to England about 30 years ago. I learnt to drive very late in my thirties because I always lived in the centre of towns and could get by without one. When I did finally take the plunge a friend spotted a 98 Citroen Xsara Estate in autotrader with a blown turbo, he advised me to buy it and he replaced the turbo for me, that was the car I passed my test in and got me hooked on these French motors.

So far I've had:
98 Citroen Xsara esate 1.9 diesel (Purchased 148K drove until 200K)
02 Citroen C5 2.0 diesel(Purchased 60K drove until 104K)
02 Citroen C8 2.0 diesel (Purchased 116K and still driving)

9 years of driving has cost me less than £5k in purchase cost, and to me thats a bargin!

I know bugger all when it comes to repair or maintance, so that's why I love these cars because they have been bulletproof for me. I laugh as I daily pass BMW's, Mercs and Audi's broken down on the hard shoulder of the M3, none of my Citroens has ever let me down.

Cheers
Colin

hi and welcome to the FCF

i do like the C8 but you realy need to be fully initiated into proper Citroens, as i believe/feel all Citroens after the BX are just Euro box's or Peugeots #-o :yikes: :-D

real citroens should be one on there own ( the likes of the DS, G's, CX's, BX's and dershies/2CV's/A series ) and not just badge engineering ,

its the green blood you know  :-D  :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:
