Change of plans. Half day booked on Friday, XM will be packed on Thursday night and I'll be travelling down Friday afternoon.

Campsite is also booked.

Sadly, change of plan for me too. I'm on call all weekend and cannot stray far from work or my mobile phone :(

I'm kind of tempted, kind of not. I'll decide when I wake up on Saturday...

Let us know when you decide Steve. I'll be leaving here about 13:00 on Friday so could always convoy down if you'd be leaving about 16:00.

Is anyone coming from Middlesbrough that could bring me something small down with them at all for a few quid?

An excellent day!
Decent turnout in the end. Nice to meet old friends and make new ones again.

The "Wonky Hanger" I expected to be a dilapidated barn-type structure, not a space age piece of architecture.

Only saw a small part of the museum (the wonky bit) but was quite impressed, should have brought some of the grandchildren.

Really looking forward to being there in the promised sunshine tomorrow, even if only in a humble Xantia!

Any pictures yet? I'm keen to see this wonky hangar

I'm really quite gutted as the main reason, apart from not feeling good with a virusy thing, that I couldn't attend yesterday was me being on-call with a 99.9% chance of being called out...

Guess what

Was not called once

I was there yesterday, and found it highly enjoyable (to the point where the camera didn't get much usage). I also wandered around the museum, and found a lot of aeronautical treasures. The 'Wonky' hanger is dedicated to the Cold War, and has, amongst other aeroplanes, all three V bombers. They also have (in different hangers) a TRS2 (XR220) and James Mays' Airfix Spitfire!

Rather unexciting I'm afraid. David will have better ones.
The last one shows how wonky the wonky hanger is.
Great inside though.
