Hallo from newcomer in Canterbury area

Post by Langdon »

Salutations!
Had a BX once, so back for more pipework...but really hoping a Xantia will be better. Haven't purchased yet so looking here, looking there, looking everywhere. Anyone want to part with a 1.9TD estate? Or know of one?
Regards,
Steve

Welcome Langdon :wave2:

Not a 1.9 TD but a 2.0 HDi has just popped up here that might be worth a look.

Hi, thanks for the welcome. That HDi looks very nice, however, trying to keep things simple and lower cost, I'm going to stick with the older engine.

hi and welcome
i agree with keeping the older cars running as less electricary, although people recon the HDI's a very very frugal on the go go juice,

on another note
do you remember Jelly's Citroen dealership of Littlebourne just out from Canterbury,

i used to work in there paint shop back in the 80ties

Hi citronut, agree about electrotrickery, forget loads of dosh for an ECU etc.

Sorry, only been here since 2007, so don't remember Jelly's. How did your Xantia estate meet her end?

i had to send my TD estate to the breakers as firstly i was in need of some dosh  :( , and secondly i had to clear the area i had her stored #-o  ,

also although she ran fine engine and suspender's wise she was very ropy

Well, I found one...possibly.

Going to have a look tomorrow. Okay, it's not an estate, but it sounds as if it has good history and it has the 1.9 TD engine that I want. I can't wait around too much longer for an estate, I need the car to go to a wedding in June. With a caravan. I come round to thinking a nice Xantia hatch that's been well looked after will be a good start. The estate can come along in a while, if necessary. Fingers crossed. I'm writing a list of things to check.
