2cv owner in need of some advice

Post by rosemary »

Hi All My 1984 2cv6 has a cv joint knock. Do I have to buy a whole driveshaft if not how do I know which part is defective. I am confused as I see both halves for sale separately. If I have posted this in the wrong place I am sorry but I am new to this.
Thanks for your help.

I'd imagine you only need the outer part, ECAS have them for about £49 reconditioned. I've never had an inner part wear out on a CV jointed 2CV.

hi and welcome

you might well find its only lost all its grease through a split CV boot/gaiter, in this case it would just require the joint removing, cleaning out, new grease and CV boot fitting

were are you located
