Hello all

A forum for new members to introduce themselves to the rabble already onboard. Not compulsory!
Tell us a little about yourself, lie if you have to but keep it to just an introduction, not a car discussion.

Post by IAN_716 »

HI all,I am currently looking to buy a 206 HDI but can't decide between the 1.4 and 2.0 I will be using it for a short daily commute and for my son and myself to travel to the Welsh coast from the midlands once a month and the odd camping trip would be a great help if current owners could give me their views on both thanks in advance Ian

Hello IAN_716, and welcome to the forum.

The answer is dependant on your driving. If it is mostly local, with a light load, then 1.4 would be best. However, if you do a fair amount of distance driving, or with a heavy load, the 2.0 is a far better choice. A small engine with a heavy load on the motorway is not going to be an enjoyable ride. I have a 1.6l work van, and a 2.0l car. The van does OK on the motorway, but when she is heavy it is very wearing. I have had 3 passengers in the car on the motorway, and it was not a problem, either for her or us.
