Rassum frassum O2

Post by Xaccers »

As some of you may have noticed, the forum hasn't been it's usual reliable selve since O2 "upgraded" their broadband in this area.
I'm working on returning to normal service, but there will be times when the site will not be available (especially when O2 provide duff router settings like today) and I apologise in advance.
Rest assured that when it is down Jim and I get on the case as soon as possible (even Danielle helps out if she gets home before me and needs to reboot things).

Thanks Mark :-D

If the FCF and/or BXC are down and you urgently need to look at something for reference purposes perhaps then it is very likely the test forums are up and running. These are in no way synchronised with the live forums and are for test, development and contingency only but you are welcome any time to take a look.

They are hosted from a different location to the live forums.

Their biggest use is for testing the integrity of the daily backup I take each morning of both forums. Often they can be several days out of date..
They can be found at:

http://fcf.xmv6.co.uk/forum/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and

http://bxc.xmv6.co.uk/forum/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Any posts made to these forums unless in full-blown contingency mode will not appear in the live forums..

Was there another outage early today (UK time)? For a couple of hours it didn't seem to work here and I tried two carriers in case it was my end of the stick.

Yup, O2 haven't put us on a static IP (as paid for) they've just increased the time between changes.
I'm going to contact them later tonight and ask them to make us static, in which case expect an outage.
