Hello All!
I presently live in Mackay North Queensland Australia although I'm moving further south soon.
In 2001/02 I lived in Bath for a couple of years where I had a diesel Citroen wagon. I think it was a Xantia 1.9 diesel with spring suspension. At that time diesel passenger cars were almost unheard of in Australia and it was such a good car I wished I could take it home with me.
Fast forward to the present and and I've just bought a 2006 C5 Estate 2.2 HDI 4 speed auto with 85K on the clock. It's a lovely car but did have a ECU fault which became apparent on the first day. As it was from a dealer it is covered by a statutory warranty so it's in being diagnosed and repaired at the moment. Unfortunately the nearest dealer is 400km away so I have to leave it there and catch the bus home. They have diagnosed problems with the EGR and turbo so not sure what's going on yet.
I've joined the aussiefrogs forum but will also post here as the total number of Citroen owners is so much greater in the UK.
Regards
Justin

Re: Another Queenslander
Welcome Justin... Good to see another Queenslander on here! I did the reverse of you and lived in Darwin, up in the Top End, for a while and we brought a little Territorian home with us when we sadly had to return to these shores. She's called Robyn in honour of where she was born...
Still miss Aus terribly even after leaving nearly 20 years ago now

Welcome Justin
i'm another QLDer on here, an Aussie (originally from Sydney) who also spent a bit of time in UK. 1998-2007 mainly in Devon. and Jim, I'm the other way around I'd love to go back but my Pomgolian wife likes it here.
How far south are you moving Justin?

Thanks Jim and Sam
I have a house at Montville, Sunshine Coast Hinterland where I'll be returning in July next year but from November until then I'll be in Hervey Bay.
My family and I were planning to go back to the UK for a while but the high $A mean it's no longer viable as I'll earn so much more here.

Re: Another Queenslander
well i just found a Citroen specialist 7km south of Montville on Friday. He mainly plays with older stuff but could be handy. I'm just west of Yandina in Kiamba.
as for the high AUS$ v low GBP£, all that means is you'll be bringing back BIG $$$$. when i went to the UK £1=$3 now it's more like £1=$1.75. that makes it a brilliant time to move back...... when some one buys our house.

Hi Sam
Trouble is I have lots of mortgage and other debt and cant afford to service it earning pounds rather than $A. We were planning to go over for 1-2 years. Great time for just a holiday there.
I saw references to the Citroen guy between Montville and Maleny. Must be someone who works from home but should be handy.

yep, he has a workshop at home. MP me if you want the details. (i dont know if he wants me putting his number on here yet, i'll ask before i post it.)
I know what you mean about having to service a mortgage, speaking to friends over there, some are worries about job security but i don't know any one who has lost their job over there (yet) but as long as your working your fine.
