obtained code , but , radio face hangs with 4 horizontal lines , will not accept any input , does the radio need disconnecting for some time or does dealer need to access the radio to reset to allow me to input the code , any help appreciated.

Sounds like the radio is a dead horse, and you know what they say about those!! If the radio won't even give you the option to input a code, it has either locked for good, which is a specialist unlock. Or it's had it! Try getting it unlocked, there are numerous companies that advertise this service, or take it out and replace it with any number of alternative head units, some of which will even be compatible with the steering wheel volume controls. You may require an adapter plate for the dash, but these are fairly inexpensive. Another cheaper alternative is to try and source a stereo from a citroen specialist breaker, they may even have the code!

the radio has gone into lock mode you need to leave the radio on for a period of time sometimes up to 3 hrs then if code does not light up try holding down bnd key or t/a key for period of seconds.
