It may be a different icon but they're both grey and one doesn't stand out from the other. A rectangle with a smaller something-or-other on the lower right - which one am I talking about?

What do you mean by "clicking on the main subject when there are several pages after"
When a topic has more than one page on the right, just next to the statistics, is a collection of small squares with numbers inside. The numbers indicate which page you're on and are available.

What I'm saying is they're too incospicuous and when your eye naturally scans down the left side of the page, as it does, you don't notice if there any extra pages and click on the topic name which is just the first page. Moving the squares (when they're there of course) to the left so that they're on the same line as either topic name or topic poster's name would be a vast improvement as it would bring them into being part of the topic name rather being pushed off, unloved on the right.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

So you're mistaking Image and Image for Image and Image then? (the latter two always being at the top of the topic list of course)

Try clicking on Image instead from the forum list.
Otherwise it's something you're going to have to get used to.

Yup. They're not dinstinctive enough from each other.

I'm not taking the pee here, are you colour blind as I can tell the difference easily.

The new look is different but everyone will soon get used to it then wonder what the fuss was about.

No, in fact I used to be a car repairer and paint spayer and you had to have good colour sense for that. I'm saying that the difference isn't great enough.

You mean that that sense of aggravation of doing the wrong thing because of poor design will go away? I doubt it as the older I get the more like Victor Meldrew I become in refusing to accept things that are just blatantly wrong.

Sorry Paul, but if you can't tell the difference at 1024x768, then with the best possibly intentions I can only suggest you get your eyes tested. I've spent hours testing the board on several machines with various resolutions ranging from 800x480 up to 1920x1080 and can see no reason why someone with reasonable eyesight would not be able to tell the difference, not only by their shapes by also by the colours of their new post indicators (bright red arrow for new post in normal thread, bright yellow star for new post in sticky) and that stickies are always at the top of the list.

I don't mind the changed colour scheme, but the layout seems to less efficient, (less information per page, and I dislike the new fonts, it is much harder to read at the same magnification.
