I have not been for a good few years but have been wanting to go again. Seems like a great location for an event.

I always tell people I'm looking to join a beer drinkers' club.

As people in car clubs seem to frequently seek a destination that involves the amber fluid, I'm sure the opposite applies and beer enthusiasts are mad keen long distance drivers! :P

Will have to send a miniature Addo doll for voodoo purposes, to the chair of any FCF meets.

A shame but a rather long journey for you Chris!

With regard to attending places such as museums if you go as part of a club not only can you get discounts on entry but potentially have personal tours such as the one I had here many years ago where I was taken to see treats such as Paul McCartneys Hispano Suiza plus many more not on show to the public.

Filching Manor Motor Museum would make a good location for a FCF meet as it also has a good go-kart circuit and is very close to Beachy Head where not only are the views spectacular but the road is an enjoyable challenge if done in a clockwise direction

Fleet Air Arm at Yeovilton does look good. I've not been to that but have to Haynes. The Tank Museum is another good one too and I have organised a Coupé meet there in the past and they were more than willing to help.

As for Richard's original post, I think it is a great idea. I think sometimes its not about the cars, as Xac points out, its about the opportunity to meet up for a chat and a bit of socialising. I know meets are pretty much my only form of socialising!

That is an idea.

Playing the caution card, would there be any legalities going to places and doing things as a club as opposed to a few mates meeting up?

Splash maybe?

How about a future meet at a preserved railway somewhere? I believe many of them do specials for club meets.

Meet, natter and have a ride behind some serious (steam) power...

Two years ago a pal held his 50th birthday bash on the Severn Valley Railway. It was an excellent day out.

I don't think so as the show organiser has to have insurance, having said that public liability insurance isn't that expensive even if it is required.

No, you'd have to be really trying to drop in the sea there  the clockwise thing is just that in that direction the road a lot more fun due to a couple of drops through twisties where the car quickly gains momentum
