Where can I get a sphere tool ???
Andyspares have a part number N98766 for a sphere removal tool but GSF say theres none in stock and they cannot get one. Does anyone know where I can get one ? (preferably not more than about £30)

Try this link for sphere removal tool

Have heard good reports - costs about £30 - mentioned in a post lower down.( http://www.andyspares.com/discussionfor ... IC_ID=1179 ) Further to some advice you received on previous post if you "crack the seals" on the back with suspension on high (and maybe a load in the boot!) YOU MUST use axle stands in case you loosen the sphere a little too much and the suspension lowers itself rapidly onto you!!
For an excellent article by Alan Smith on how to change rear spheres try:-

Its OK, I know what a pipe wrench is (just being a bit thick for a minute). I'm surprised theres enough room to get the jaws round. Will give it a try if I can find a big one.

Hi Clarke,
I suppose it is like a chain wrench but not one of those cheap oil filter removal jobs. The chain is more like a motorcycle chain and is sufficiently long to go round the sphere. It has no Jaws like the bond film.

Dom,
If it's not swearing on here, try Pleiades (www.pleiades.uk.com). They do a tool which is reputed to be good, for around the same money as GSF.

I hope Pleiades is not a swear word here, Their sphere removal tool is first class, I've had mine 20 years and I've not had a sphere yet that it has failed to undo. One tip I was given, is using an ALUMNIUM rod as a drift is to give the suspension cylinder a hefty tap at the junction of the sphere and suspension cylinder, it helps to break the electrolytic corrosion caused by Citroen's love of mating mild steel and aluminium which coupled with our lovely salted roads causes corrosion like you would not believe! I had a rear suspension cylinder on a bx eaten right through - some 6mm of cast alumnium!
Dissolving BX rear suspension cylinders is the rule rather than the exception over here in Sweden. You think you got salt on the roads? You'd think the road authority had shares in Sibera if you saw what they shovel out on the roads over here of a winter time!
It also makes the few GS owners over here very depressed, since most BX owners have cottoned on to the fact the GS front cylinders = BX rear cylinders (and most scrappies giv'm away).
A bit off topic, sorry!
