LHM tank

Post by jemboyd »

Someone a while ago mentioned refilling and cleaning filters in the LHM tank - what is the LHM tank, and what's the proceedure for doing this oneself??

Presumably you have either a Xantia, an XM, a BX or a CX. It's only these Citroens that require LHM. If you are lucky enough to have one of these vehicles, LHM is the liquid that gives the vehicle it's magic-carpet ride. Look under your bonnet and you will see a tank with five or six hoses running from the top. If you have a BX, the tank will be round, green in colour and situated on the front left side. If you have a Xantia, the tank is square, black and is situated on the right at the rear of the engine compartment. To change the fluid, I would suggest you obtain a copy of the relevant Haynes Manual, study the section, then come back for further advice.

Thats the damn problem - don't know if I will be able to get Haynes manuals in Trinidad - wrote them about it and they didn't seem to bother to reply.

Just a thought;
Don't Andyspares sell Service Manuals?? If so, why not simply get one from them and get it sent over? From memory it's about UKP12 and can be bought over the net using your credit card or whichever style of payment you choose.
