Hi everyone,
Bought a new car today a 205 1.6 Gti to replace my 309 gti
H reg and its mint inside and out last owner had it for 10 years and kept it in the garage has a stack of paperwork with it. Has done 110,000 FSH. Has half leather interior which is nice. Quite suprised how nippy it is for a 1.6.
All ive got planned for it is a stainless steel 3" system, new number plates and a parcel shelf that hasnt had speakers cut in to it want to keep it standard.
Will take some good pictures the weekend when ive washed and waxed it. Want to go to some shows this year what shows are you all going to?
Only got this pic off ebay at the moment

Hi Shaun,
Welcome That a lovely 205 GTi and great to see you have a 1.6..
I had a 1.6 GTi for years and rated it more than the 1.9GTi. Somehow purer and certainly a lot more eager. It was like driving a lively Springer Spaniel
Loved that car. It gave way to a series of Activas...
Just a word of warning: You'll hear of tales of transplanting Activa engines into the 205GTi. Many Activas have needlessly died in this pursuit as have many BX GTi "Vlavers" and 405 Mi16s before them..
Just be aware there are a large group of Activa owners on here and in some quarters even talk of using an Activa for a 205 donor is likely to cause a rise in blood pressure and dark threats involving burning torches and pitchforks
Be great to see you a Little Horwood next month
EDIT: What caused you to replace a 309GTi with a 205 then. I rate the 309GTi very highly... A real classic now, especially the Goodwood.

Yeah i liked the 309 but it was a wreck body was tatty interior was the mk1 type so really nasty and bits missing. Also it kept deciding not to start. Will be keeping the 1.6 engine its nice and nippy for me as will only get used at weekends. Will look in to that show now.
