Hi!
Lately the engine has started to hesitate on accelaration. Not all the time, but very often. It seems like it only happens in a spesific range, between approx 2500rpm->5000rpm. After 5000rpm the normal power kicks inn<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>. Currently using redex to try to clean injectors, thinking this could be the problem. The car was serviced not long ago (approx 1000km. Now at 131000km). Anyone have any ideas about what the problem could be?

My symptoms were somewhat similar; rough running/misfiring at various parts of the rev range.
I also had run Redex through the system and I have photos of how the injector nozzles looked when they came out; you'd have to see them to believe how bad they looked (Hey Jon Wood???) I cleaned them manually and used new "O" rings when I refitted them. I have heard today from a guy in UK who did the same job on his 16V BX but went a bit further than me & also replaced the end caps on the nozzles (part that fits into the intake plenum.) He was amazed at how cheap the job was & how spectacular the results. Another point worth checking could also be the fuel filter as if yours is original, it would be well past time that it should be replaced. Dirt and/or moisture in a filter can give some very strange problems also.
If these all check out or if you replace them and the problem persists, I'd tend to then look at plugs, dizzy cap & leads and if all else fails, the coil.
I always consider the engine management as a last resort due to it being very expensive and rarely the problem.
