Hi,
Me again
I've found out why I have no compression on my BX GTi. The woodruff key on the camshaft pulley has sheared and the valve timing is retarded by about 120 degrees.
An inspection of the camshaft whilst rotating the engine with a screwdriver in the sparkplug hole shows that the exhaust valves are fully open at TDC.
Is this a velve bending situation on the BX GTi. I know the diesel engines bend valves, but do the petrol engines?
Thanks,
Martin.
