Hi gang,
Going over an old subject, the blower has stopped working and this is a resistance module only 9 months old !!!!!!
I've ordered some more transistors hopefully here soon any tips for fitting to module.
I've got heat sink compound and the original module to play with, going to complain to dealer re 9 mth old module and try and get new one to replace same since it is less than a year from purchase.
Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Re: Heater blower
I am convinced my blower failure was the result of water ingress. Is there a possibility you haven't cured the cause of the original failure? Just a suggestion.KennyW wrote:...replace same since it is less than a year from purchase. Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Thanks for the replies, Photo's are great Jim but after all that.
I did the job and still no Blower
I've checked the fuses and they have not blown.
I did a quick check and got only one reading from one of the wires.
Can't remember what it was though and which wire.
Question time for forum.
What should i check and in what order?
Any answers will be gratefully received.

Hi team,
I got the same transistiors as Peter N.
I've tried both old and new resistance control module and the heater blower does not work at all.
I did the replacement in Feb 07 with a new unit, got it on special!!!
The heater blower was working but at the time i thought it wasn't as good as the original.I put it down to my imagination
I am trying check the supply voltage into the blower and what wires have a permant feed etc.
I hope this helps.

Hi Team,
I quickly checked the thick red and black wires which go into the blower
0 v being read through meter.
Unable to check further ie the F21 fuse rated 30amp to see if it is getting a supply.
Any ideas gratefully accepted.

thanks for all the replies and ideas,
After all the fuss
, I had time this afternoon to check the voltage running through the circuit and found my problem.
It was the relay which had gone, supply in through No3,when I put old relay in and checked supply to control module nothing.
I found a relay in my box of tricks of right type but only 25amp and blower works.
Will get new heavier relay tomorrow.
Any suggestions as to what size?
Simon's blower entry 40 amp relay.
All the best
Kenny

25 Amps should be just enough, but the problem is that there are many components that are not up to their claimed ratings.
There is also a rating for the interruption of the current when the relay releases and sparks; don’t know what that’s called.
My relay says 30 Amps, and has been good for 9 years this far.
I would have doubts about a relay in the same size casing saying 40 Amps.
The Citroën modification says 30 Amps for both the relay and the fuse.
RichardW also says at least 30 Amps:

I got one today rated 30 amp and i'll keep the other one as a spare.

Kenny W
P.S. Clogzz still working on the aircon, I'll need it working for France next year
