Attention AOL users !

Post by AndersDK »

Members using AOL browser or linking from AOL will most likely have problems reaching this forum.

Ever since we started the discussions forum, AOL have been a problem, because the forum software used in the past - and the PHP software used now - is optimised for the de facto standard browser *Microsoft Internet Explore (IE) * version 5, 6 or 7.

If you encounter problems logging on to the FCF using AOL, you should try your standard supplied IE browser (on PC's).
Also FireFox Mozilla browser is known to work fine.

MAC users are welcome to PM me with their observations to be included here - as well as other browsers found to work fine with the PHP board software.
Thanks.

Macs on Safari, Msoft Internet Destroyer and Firefox work just fine Anders - I have 3 Macs running FCF

Just recently there has been a sharp increase in newly activated new members experiencing terrible difficulty in logging on to the forum and holding sessions when using AOL. My general advice is to not use the AOL Browser but to use FireFox or Opera.

I'd be grateful if any seasoned users of AOL can post up the secrets of their success in using AOL so that we can pass on more useful and sound guidance to our struggling new members.

Thanks.

Hi Jim,
I used to be able to get into FCF with aol. But not for a good while.
When I tried it recently, the software still said I was banned--contact the management- which one can't do because you can't log in to do so.
WHY the word "banned". Would be better to say " Not authorised".
I just use Firefox now--less hassle.
Regards,
Greg

I know this was a long time ago but it's crazy to see just how downhill AOL has gone
