Hi,
Just been scavenging @ the breakers & there's a ZX with genuine citroen roofbars on - no key, unsurprisingly. Only a tenner, so I'd quite like them...
Any posh people out there with these?
How are these fitted/locked?
Is it possible to remove them without the original key?
Thanks
Jonathan

My Thule roof bars for my BX Estate fit on the roof rails with a clamp operated by an allen headed bolt - and the lock is simply a cover over the bolt.
Many manufacturers publish their instructions on their websites - may be worth a look.
Thanks Jeremy,
I can see an "allen-like" bolthead deep in the recess, and clearly a cover over most of the aperture where I would expect the clamp bolt to me. I suspected the allen-like bolt of being some kind of security headed bolt but may be in luck. I had no tools with me at the time so couldn't check.
Your Thule bars are obviously different from mine as all the thule bars I've had have had a thumbwheel type tightening (saloons BX, R19, carina)
device.
Had a look at Citroen's website, they have neglected to mention the ZX for some reason....
Thanks for the info.

The bolts are not security bolts - just plain recessed hexagonal allen bolts - with a 'Key' for them which is simply a length of hex bar with a handle.
Thanks for this. Didn't have time for a proper look when I was there, but sounds hopeful.
Hope they haven't minced the car before I can get down there.
Cheers
Jonathan
