DS7 ambient lighting and total MPG

Post by gabber »

Hi - new to forum!

I took delivery of my nice shiney new DS7 yesterday - Prestige, with black wings and premium safety pack (as I wanted the "self" driving functionality - which having used it on the M25 this morning, is amazing - stress free driving in traffic jams!)

Almost everything works as intended - but I can't see how to activate the ambient lighting, in fact I can't even see where it comes out off - I think its missing! It does come as std on Prestige doesn't it? I know its hardly a massive thing, but having had it in mold car (Mondeo) I miss the glow.

Also - how do you display total/avergae lifetime MPG - I can only seem to get live mpg?

Normally I'd put all this up here - but these sorts of things are in the manual to be honest, so I think you need to take a few weeks out and read it.

Both things are covered in the manual. Ambient controls: Vehicle/driving Menu - vehicle settings - Comfort
Trip computer is on page 34

Also - how do you display total/average lifetime MPG - I can only seem to get live mpg?

Press the button on the end of the Right hand stalk. once = live data, again = trip one, again trip two. Hold in to reset trip one or two

I only use trip 1. have never reset trip 2 so have lifetime average.

There isn't a 'lifetime' option - you'll have to use one of the Trip modes - say Trip 2 and just never reset it. Use Trip 1 for any specific journeys that you want to reset - but leave trip 2 alone and that will provide an average MPG and the like for total mileage since it was last reset.

The trip counters stop counting up at 6215 miles (10,000 km)* - I presume the MPG stops adjusting as well.

*At least they do on the PSA cars I've had. Later ones might be different.

They stop at 6214 (or maybe 6215) miles which is the equivalent of 10,000km. Presumably at 9999.9km the buffers are full up! And, yes, the MPG figure stays at whatever figure was showing at that point.
