Diagbox not closing

Post by max1 »

After installing a few updates from the initial install of 7.02 the software now won’t close. After each update (am now on 7.57) i was able to close Diagbox ok after it installed the “internet updates”, but then after restarting the laptop & then opening Diagbox again - when I try to close it just says “Closing of the application in progress, please wait” .... & half an hour later it's still trying to close.

I thought that perhaps any updates would cure this but it appears thats not the case. I have a Rev C full chip interface & Win7. Doesn't make any difference if I have the interface connected or not.

Only way to close is with task manager. I take it it's not safe to use with the car if its not shutting down properly ?

Thanks

Hmm
I have yet to figure out how to update mine. I have a phobia about letting it connect to the net.
Now I'm worried about messing with it at all. It works at the moment...

These aren't internet updates - it's just what it says on the screen! As long as you have your network adapter enabled , but no live connection to the net you are fine.

Max - make sure that windows update is not getting re-enabled after startup and anti virus software - that will interfere with updates. Disable the services for now until everything is installed.

Cheers Marc, had to turn the firewall off as well as Windows update & now it closes fine. Phew.

If you don’t allow the firewall requests it may interfere with future sessions, so important to allow all these through Max.

Funny because I did allow all connections as & when it prompted & the updates installed fine it was just closing it that was the problem. The only way to get it to close was turning it off completely. Maybe just a glitch on my particular machine. Thx
