Renault Master I - inner tie rod

Post by Shiho »

Hello,

I'm having trouble with my old Renault Master (1987).
I need to change the inner tie rods.

Problem is, my steering rack needs a female joint like this one :

The official reference has a male end and so, it does not fit.
I have no idea why the steering rack was replaced with this model, neither which model it is exactly.

Either I find joints fitting my steering rack, either I have to get it changed (and the price won't be the same).
As the rack is not the good one, I don't know how to buy the matching joints (length, thread..).

Any help would be appreciated :)

I got absolutely nowhere with an Ebay UK search for Masters of that era or Inner Tie Rods. Are the modern ones even made by Renault... or are they Vauxhall / Opel?

I wonder if anyone here's got an old parts book and is able to cross-reference what other vehicles used the same Inner Tie Rod, to 'expand' your search?

Is there any possibility that a small engineering shop in your area can re-condition the existing Tie Rods?

I had nightmares with the Tie Rod on my 405 a couple of years back, I empathise!
