Clio gearbox whine
Hi, another fault I forgot to add to my previous post is that the gearbox seems to be whining when acceleration and deceleration. The Car has around 100k on the tranny and hasn't been used for 3 years. Do u think the bearings are worn out? Gear changes slightly higher than I remember.

Re: Clio gearbox whine
Noisy bearings can go on for years and are also expensive to replace, whining on acceleration and deceleration suggests it may be the diff bearings, in any event if its not unbearable I would put up with it. Do check the gearbox oil level though.

Re: Clio gearbox whine
When you done all of the above get under it and wiggle the drive shafts up and down if it has movement its the diff bearings !
