Espace 2000 X Tailgate Faults

rear wiper on tailgate continues to operate after its switched off,even after removing ignition key and locking doors.[:(]
number plate light remains lit after lights switched off,even after removing ignition key and locking doors.[:(]
tailgate wont lock
Renault have just replaced wiper motor & some wiring, but im still having probs.
please ,anybody any ideas??

Just a thought as I have never seen inside one, but to me it almost sounds like a relay with the contacts frozen together. By frozen I mean as in welded together.
If it has a relay in the circuit (the French love 'em) I'd start there.

Thanks for the thought Alan.
Renault now say its the BMI unit whatever that is, its £112 + VAT,
so I hope they are right this time.
Anybody know what a BMI unit is???

My guess is it will be some kind of sealed I/C with about five bobs worth of bits in it.

RENAULT NOW SEEM TO HAVE SORTED IT, THEY REPLACED THE BII UNIT.
ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC THIS IS "A BLACK COMPUTER ABOUT 4 INCHES
SQUARE THAT CONTROLS ALMOST EVERYTHING" IT'S LOCATED IN THE FUSE BOX.[:)][:)]
