Renault 19 Help!

Post by Jonathan28 »

I was driving in town last night the engine on my Renault 19 stopped suddenly. I cruised to a halt changing down gears in an attempt to bump it but it simply slowed to a standstill. It sounds as though there is no spark to the engine as the battery is fine or maybe no fuel to spark. Checked the plugs (seem fine). Can a fuel filter block suddenly like that or is it a more gradual process? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Had the same problem a couple of years ago. After spending over £120 on various bits and pieces, it turned out to be a £5.00 rotor arm that had worn down and just given up. This should be a quick and simple job to do.
Goodluck.

My car did this a long time ago and it turned out to be the oxygen sensor on them. I think its a known issue.
