Hi
I have a hands free mobile phone bt car kit in my vehicle. it has a wire that "sends" a command to mute the radio when a call is made. I would like to ask how do I connect it to the (original) radio that is installed in the vehicle and if you can provide the guidance how to dismantle the panel & radio (btw - is a code needed to operate the radio afterwards? because I don't have the code and I don't want to find myself in a situation that the radio is no longer operable).
Thanx.

There is no code needed on the C5.
What type of BT kit is it ? does it have its own speaker or does the phone calls come through the cars own speakers ?
If the calls come through the cars own speakers you don't normally need to connect the audio mute wire, they usually do it automatically.
The easiest way to find the audio mute pin is to have the radio partially removed & switched on, then with a bulb test lamp connected to earth probe it into each terminal on the back of the radio connector, when you touch the right terminal the radio will mute.

Re: Radio mute on C5
Thanx for your reply. unfortunately, it's an older one (Bury 9040) with a speaker of its own, so according to your explanation the radio must be removed. where can I find some guidance on how to dismatle the panel and the radio?

I've seen a video on youtube showing how to dismantle the radio. looks quite simple. it shows that a torx screwdriver is needed. since the presenter speaks Spanish, I wasn't able to understand what size of torx is needed. any idea?
