Yes, they work very well for the manufacturer- they are very good at removing cash from your pocket.

Fifty quid for a pair of small magnets! Being charitable, these must cost a quid to manufacture.
I found a pair on a car in a scrapyard, so I tried them out on an old Mazda 626 I had.
Fuel consumption went from 36 MPG to, err, 36 MPG and the engine ran very smoothly - the same as it did before....
Scam! (or to be more accurate - a pyramid selling scam.)

that proof of how it works might sound scientific, but really its a load of bollox.
