popping bulbs

every couple of weeks my driver side headlight bulb pops, anyone know what could be causing this?

Strange that just one bulbs popping?
You sure you havent touched the glass part of the bulb with your fingers when fitting it?

Could be a bad earth as well.

Mates Volve V70 had this proplem and it was a bad earth connection.

well i know o didnt touch the glass, so i'll check on the earth and make sure nothings lose. thanks all

If the earth conn is okay, I would also try replacing the other paired headlamp bulb.

i just looked on the inside, and this buld didnt just blow, it eploded, shatterd completely, could this just be the earth or could it be more serious?

Hi,
not contradicting anything said so far. A halogen bulb needs a 12 volt pd across it, otherwise they will blow. So any poor connection - high resistance will have this affect. Can't remember wher I got that from, but
I had a CX500 motorcycle with a Rickman fairing and two headlights. This was frequently popping bulbs. I came across the above info, replaced the in-line connector between bike and fairing - problem solved.

well all the connections are good, any other suggestions? maybe i've just got 2 dudd bulbs in a row, one lasted a couple of weeks, the other about 3 days.
