205D Temp gauge

Post by Dave Bamber »

Hello Pug People, wandered over here fron the Cit forum due to my buying a 205 for Mrs B. Question is, can a temperature gauge be fitted to one of these beasties? I was wondering if the guages, speedo can be fitted from a GTI which I assume has a temp gauge. Waddya think?[:D]

I did this job on a BX several years ago. I used an after-market gauge of the electrical type. I removed one of the temperature warning switches on the thermostat housing and fitted the sender unit in its place. The BXTD has two switches, and I think the 205 only has one, but maybe the second hole is filled with a plug. The gauge I fitted into the dash by removing the back of the ashtray and cutting a suitable hole in the front of it.

Thanks John. I did the same on a BX a few years ago too, but I used a BX GTI dash so the clock was built in. I think I will use an after market guage this time though, as it is less faffing about[;)]
