Hi
1994 wont be a transponder imobiliser, It might have a keypad fitted in front of the gearstick.
If it doesnt have this, Locking the car with the remote key is the only way of setting & unsetting the alarm / imobiliser.

Hi
Do you have remote locking on this car?
If yes, how many buttons on your key, 1 or 2?
Do you have deadlocks fitted? To test if you have, Turn the key in the door towards the back of the car & hold it there for 3 deconds, Do you hear a second motor working after the central locking has locked?
Do you have 2 alarm sensors at the top of the front door posts?
Locking the car with a remote key is the only way of setting & unsetting the alarm & imobiliser on this year of 306.

there is one button on the key and one on the sterring collum, once wen i had the battery after i had the battery diconnected the imobiliser armed its self, i disarmed it with the key in the ignition pressing the key and collum button randomly until it would start, until i got it disarmed all the lights where flashing so basically i know its got one.

Hi
On the early 306s the alarm / imobiliser is armed as soon as the battery is reconnected.
The button on the steering collum, Might be for the ultrasonic sensors at the top of the A posts if fitted.
Do you have 2 x ultrasonic sensors on your 306?
As well as the flashing the horn or siren should have sounded as well.
As I keep saying, Locking & unlocking the car with the remote key is the only way to arm & disarm the imobiliser on this year of 306.
Transponder keys where used around 1997/98 onwards.

well from the haynes i found out about a thing behind one of the head lights which controls the alarm system, it says that its operated by a desegnated key, i tries my ignition key in it but nothing happend (appart from when i touched the "lock switch" with it the alarm gave a little cherp) but the key wouldnt actually fit in, should it? would this being switched off turn off the remote centrel locking and imobiliser cos untill i started this thread i didnt even know it was meant to have remote locking. anyway, how much would a replacement key cost from pug?

Hi
The switch behind the headlamp has its own key with "Texton" stamped on it, the ignition key wont fit it.
This is the on/off switch for the battery back up siren only, This standard fit Peugeot alarm is total rubbish, always gives trouble as it gets older & isnt worth fixing.
Having this switched off wont affect the remote locking system, The alarm & imobiliser is armed / disarmed only with the remote key.
A remote key is between £45 - £80 from Peugeot & will have to come from France & takes around 2 weeks to get.
A new key for the siren would need the key number, Peugeot might still have this on there computer but will charge you.
You can get a second hand remote reprogrammed to your car, these turn up on ebay & you just pop down the Pug dealer & get a new key blade.

Hi
Is the remote key arming & disarming the alarm ok?
Ive no idea where the control boxes are located on 306s im afraid, Give me a 405 any day.
This is a silly question, but have you checked all the fuses in the fuse box? Does the central locking work with the door locks & lock buttons ok?

the remote key does nothing, i'll get a new battery next time im in town, and the alarm is switched off,(haynes says that the switch behind the headlight switched the alarm system off completely) i have cheacked the fuse box, they are all fine. and the central locking works fine if i do it myself. (but it would look so much more cool if it was remote)

The key switch behind the headlamp will only switch the alarm battery back up SIREN off.
The rest of the alarm system will still work without the siren.
Try a new battery in your key, You might have to reprograme your key to your car after fitting the new battery.
Ive no idea on the 306 keys, But it has been covered on this forum before & a search should turn up how to perform this task.
