Hi,
I have bought an L-reg 205 1.8G Junior. I wanted to put the engine into my F-reg 1.8GLD. WILL IT FIT[:D]? Theres no vac pump on this new enging so do I need to move something else too like a servo, and the wishbones look different does that mean the drive shafts are a different length?[?]

there are two different vaccuum pumpd for the XUD, Belt driven by a pulley on the L/H/S, as on your F reg car and Camshaft driven on the newer one. I am sure they are not interchangeable unless you change the camshaft.
The brake servo is the same and I am fairly certain the driveshafts are the same as well.
One quick way to check is look in the GSF catalogue for any changes
good luck
Kevin

thank you for your help in this matter. I suppose then a total gear box and engine and gearstick and rod assembly plus drive shafts would get me going. The engine mounts were my main worry and my next is the fact that the gear stick and its rods and mountings will not fit where my old one did. Its good to know that the VAC pump will work with any servo unit.
I am going to plan this work in for my holidays in the first week in September. I have a week off I am being a bit ambitious but you gotta start somewhere.
Does any one know of a good place to hire a engine hoist and if this weather keeps up a car sized gazeebo[:D]
