Any idea how much a set of recon injectors are??? justlooked on gsf and new ones are either £20 or £35 each (for a 405 1.9td)
From what ive seen it looks like a fairly straight forward and easy job to take them out and replace them. Is there anything the haynes has "slightly" over looked?
Or is it easier/cheaper just to take it to a garage and let them sort it.
Can anyone recomend anywhere in liverpool to get recon injectors???
cheers si

the car has done a shade under 187k. Ive slapped a few bottles of stp into it and a few of redex and theres an improvement in the grunt and feel to the drive, but the mpg is still very poor 39mpg at best. and then only if im being generous in my calculations
As for the injectors im assuming there originals ive only had the car 6months and it came with no service history and nothing looks like its been loved. If it doesnt cost the earth i want to get them sorted as ive been told it can make a big difference.

several years ago I had new injectors fitted to a 1.8D Ford engine that had done 68K. The pressure test on them showed that they had a low pressure spray and did't produce the fine spay. All four cost £100 inc fitting, but this was 5 years ago.
some types of injector can be reconditiond, only a diesel specialist can tell you this.
From what I saw when they guy done mine, its realy simple, but don't forget the copper grease, and the heat shield if you do your own.
