Noisy central locking on '91 205 GT

Hi,
I'm wondering if the rather noisy operation of the central locking on my car (seems in particular to come from o/s rear door) is usual? You can clearly hear the motors wind for a second, and then the usual solenoid click (or whatever it is). Can anyone tell me whether this is normal?

no, its not normal, the operation should be fairly swift. I had a guy with a CTi and his done the same and when i had shown him how they should operate he realised that the motor was on its way out
