306 xsi airbag warning light

Post by kevc »

any body had a prob with the airbag warning light coming on,flashing etc etc but it disapears if youmove the steering column height adjuster (ie move it from the bottom position up higher) then turn off the ignition and try again
strange but true

Hi
Likely a dirty electrical connection, you can clean these with some switch cleaner or wd40.
Also clean the connectors under the seats, the orange 2 pin ones.
Make sure you have the radio code, shut the alarm down if fitted then disconnect the battery FIRST! & wait 10 minutes before disconnecting any of the SRS connectors.

take the steering column shroud off, theres a connection on top of the column with 2 wires, check that and then it goes behind steering wheel to airbag, could also be there. If not you may have a dodgy wire running down the column in the loom. Will be difficult to find if it is.
