306 Sedan quarterlight window

Post by adrianmcgowan »

Hi,
I have a 4 door mk1 306 sedan and some little toerag decided to break my NS rear quarterlight window yesterday. After finding out that Autoglass have a 2 day waiting list and want to charge over £70 I have decided to fit it myself. I can find a quarterlight easily through online autobreakers but am not sure whether the sedan rear doors take exactly the same quarterlight window as the normal hatchback. I suspect that they do in order to make manufacturing easier, but just wanted to check before I purchase the glass.
Thanks
Adrian

sorry about that - don't know what was going on!
To look at the rear doors are very similar, but I'd check by calling auto glass back and asking them

Have you tried the likes of Auto Windscreens, or even an independant for a quote? One of them might give you a price that it's not worth bothering yourself for!

I have but all of my local independants are booked up (the kids have been breaking into whole streets of cars) and the callout charge for all the others is ridiculous money for a cheap peice of glass - I've alread removed the rubber and cleaned it all out ready to put the new pane straight in - its just a matter of making sure I get the right glass. I've tried calling autoglass to find out if they are the same but you just end up speaking to some kid in a call centre who doesn't even know what a quarterlight window is!
If anyone out there has got a sedan and a hatchback could you please have a look for me to see the quarterlight windows are the same?
thanks
Adrian
