HELLO
I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY AIRBAG LIGHT.
WHEN I TURN THE IGNITION ON IT COMES ON BUT DOESNT GO OUT INSTEAD IT FLASHES FOR 5 MINUTES AND THEN STAYS ON. THE HANDBOOK AND THE HAYES BOOK ALL SAY GO TO A DEALER, WHICH I A BIT WORRYING.
DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEAS ON WHAT THE WARNING LIGHT MEANS OR HOW IT CAN BE FIXED???
OR AM I GOING TO HAVE TO BITE THE BULLET AND GO THE THE DEALER.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.

Look under the front edge of the front seats and you will see an orange connector - this is for the seat belt pretensioner - odds on this is what is causing your problem - they are a well known weak point. With the ignition off (!) disconnect these and spray them with WD-40, then open and close them a few times. Make sure they are finally very well pushed home - turn on ignition and airbag light should now behave properly. You might have to do this every few weeks though - some folk have soldered the connections closed to make sure the light stays out.
