Hi all..
I have a 607 hdi .. Whislt driving it the bloody thing just cut out me!

The AA attended and these were the fault codes ....

Any ideas what might have gone on ?

Patrol found the following fault code/s:System : Engine control 1 - 75M / Diesel EDC 15C2-1x0340 - Sync. camshaft to crankshaft. Error Message : Signal improbable.2141 - Throttle valve actuator. Error Message : Faulty.2120 - Charge-air preheater. Error Message : Open circuit.1477 - . Error Message : Unknown fault.2144 - Exhaust-gas recircul. ctrl. circuit. pop your VIN up and I'll what I can make of any of those codes - although not all seem to be PSA specific codes, but I'll have a look.

Hi - unfortunately, the data is not available for this injection system with this DW10ATED4 with BOSCH EDC15C2 - normally I could break down the faults, causes and suspect areas, but they are not listed apart from the main fault similar to what you have already. But I have put the PSA fault titles in with the 'P' prefix - so that may help you in your search.

If you had Peugeot Planet 2000, you might get a little more detail and some pointers on what to check, as well as some live data.

P0245: Turbocharger pressure fault
P1477: Coolant solenoid valve fault
P2120: Fault on intake air heating circuit
P2141: EGR butterfly position fault
P2144: EGR control electrovalve fault

I should add that unusually, you do have a diesel particulate filter on this 110 HP engine.

Thank you for the time you have spent on the reply... I have a couple of other questions..

Could the dpf be causing the issue? Plus a speed control system has been faulty for a few months... Could that be related?, regards Jim

The speed control system is linked to the engine ECU. Under certain conditions, the injection ECU will disengage the Cruise Control and Speed Limiting functions as a safety precaution. This can happen when there are issues with the air or fuelling or when something is not right. Engine hesitation / jerking is one area where this would happen. So important to understand the route causes - as this can have a knock-on effect on other systems and trigger a fault that is not directly related.

In your case above, it would seem 2 faults are pointing to the EGR and one to the turbo. So I would get the air circuit checked.

The diagram below is actually for the DW10ATED engine for a C5 MK I (not the ATED4), but may be similar as it uses the same Bosch Injection System. Anyway it may help in identifying components.

If it is the vacuum supply, there may be insufficient vacuum to operate the valves, added to the age of the car with natural carbon build up which won't help.
