Peugeot 1007 2005 1.4i 8v limp mode

Post by tonyg064 »

Hi looking for some help our Peugeot 1007 is not happy I had no issues with the car till last week travelling back home the car went into limp mode after displaying Antipolltion fault I had no warning or poor running up to this point.
I got it off the road and tried a reset power on off but I gave in after 2 hours and called the recovery man. Cars back home I have a fault code from 2 readers of P0608 controlmodule VSS output A, I clear the fault but comes back I have replaced the speed sensor checked all the connections and condition of plugs and wires fuses. The car is in very good condition inside and out and looks to be well serviced. The car starts and ticks over rpms do raise and fall but it doesn’t stall or run rough no reported miss fire plugs are new. Any help or pointers to the issue would be greatly appreciated
Regards Tony

To be sure, I'll need your VIN, but if this is a piloted manual with Stop / Start, then this should give you a few places to start checking:

Forgot to say it’s a 5 speed manual no stop start also when the engines running the radiator cooling fan also runs till the engine is shut down then stops almost immediately 2-3sec after the key is turned off no warning lamps other than the EML are displayed when running but they all work or display on startup. I have all my lights operating brakes side tail head lamps 4 way flash wipers doors and windows all function with no issues along with the locks

I think you got some of the characters the wrong way round - should of been 'KMKFV'! I've got it now.

So you have a 1007 HATCH 2 SLIDING DOORS 1.4i 75 (TU3JP) Manual gearbox 5.

As for the fan running - that is perfectly normal when you have air conditioning switched on. With A/C on, the fan will generally run at a slower speed to help cool the condenser.

So this code (P0608) is therefore not applicable to your car (nothing comes up against it using your VIN with Citroen). However, a generic P0608 code can mean an ECU internal Fault - which means diddly really. Hence a scan with Peugeot Planet is probably a good idea.
