P1755 fault, 308 2010
Hello,
I have a Peugeot 308 with some transmission problems. Its the manual gearbox that they call "Automatic"
The faultcodes is P1755 wich I understand is the clutch actuator position.
Could a reset with a computer work? Can you use Lexia software you get of ebay to reset the position?
Is it very likely that the clutch and flywheel needs replacement?
What should be the first things I check?
- Thanks

HI and welcome.
First thing is to pop your VIN up here so I can determine exact model and options and system you have. I'm going to move this into the Peugeot section.

Re: P1755 fault, 308 2010
Ok, so you have the 6 speed controlled manual gearbox.
The details of the fault are below - but as you can see it could be caused by any number of the areas identified below.
When these things go wrong they can be a nightmare and very expensive to rectify.
Yes, you will need Diagbox to properly interrogate it - but honestly, there's rarely any magic cure by a 'reset'.
As you can see it could be caused by any number of sensors / or the oil level, electrovalves etc.
I think you'll need to get a bit more diagnosis by somebody who knows these boxes and can methodically go through the areas one by one to try and eliminate it, but be prepared to leave your wallet open....

Thanks for reply. Will check some stuff. Does the Diagbox do everything the dealer can do?
Was just hoping not have to drop the tranny. I will do the stuff myself, but would be nice to know if there is something that is most likely to fail?. Read that people replace clutch and after some time the error comes back. Car only has 60 000km.
Anyone had this exact problem?

There are plenty of issue with these boxes across PSA vehicles and most of use here advise on avoiding them like the plague - get a proper manual or a fully Auto.
Diagbox is the software and you will need a Lexia Clone VCI and of course a suitable laptop. It will work across all PSA vehicles. Support is mostly from other users as these clones are not officially sanctioned by PSA.
There are measures for depressurising the hydraulic system, and other operations - depending on what it is you are trying to do.
Have a look on C4 Owners - there is a procedure for juddering when pulling away - but not sure this is related to your error:

Hi, thanks.
Will take a look and revert. We will read out faultcodes tomorrow. Car is almost att 200'000 km so no surprise if clutch is about to go. I Work as a High Voltage Technican for new electric cars myself so no homework on this old banger. Just checking codes.

Re: P1755 fault, 308 2010
So just pop up any other fault codes you need an explanation for (that have not already been provided above).
As far as P1755 goes if there is a loss of traction and this fault is present then this means there is contamination in the gear control piloting actuator.
Diagnostics must be undertaken to determine the course of action:
If the gearbox programming does not work, the clutch stop needs to be replaced.
If the programming does work, the gearbox piloting actuator may need replacing.
But referring to the P1755 fault code table in my previous post, you can see other possibilities.

Diagnostics must be undertaken to determine the course of action:
- Reading the fault codes first of all.
- Gearbox programming.
- Replacement of the gear control piloting actuator (if necessary).
- Replacement of the clutch bearing (if necessary).
