306 hdi fuel tank

Post by eddywrecker »

hi, wondered if anyone can help: I put (£4) unleaded into my dads' mates' 306 estate, and as such need to drain it. I have located where i think you access the tank, from under the back seats, but i cannot get the plastic cap off. am i looking in the right place? the cap is smoooth, closest to the door and has a small slot on it. The cap will spin round, with force, but won't come off, nor does it seem prisable.
hope you can help,
thanks for your time ev

i know with older diesels its ok if u put a little petrol in, a couple of litres or so. It is even supposed to help clean injectors like some of these additives u can buy as well as helping the car start a little bit quicker. As such as long as it is a small amount and theres lots of diesel in the tank its ok. But as for a newer hdi engine i cant honestly say if it will affect it.
