807 heater blowers or flaps ??

Post by wotwot »

Hi not been on for awhile (came over to the DARK SIDE), had a few citroens over the years all of which had there niggles.
So decided to upgrade from an 806 to an 807 se manual 2.0 hdi. maybe should have gone for the C8 instead,
Went to pick car up had to jump start with leads, started first turn but battery is kaput, reset clock and date and drove home 200 miles so would have given it a good charge, it did start ok when i got home that day albeit a little slow on the starter.following day battery not enough to start it, did a quick battery swap from my xara picasso 20 hdi, turned over quickly and started straight away and had no issues starting all week.
cold day driving home heaters were almost non existant, blower works !! and shows all little fins lit up on control panel but it could'nt blow a leaf off the air vents. cant hear any vent flaps moving when buttons are pressed, how many and which flap should I check first. the time and date keep resetting (any connection between the two problems).
BSI reset tried 3 times no change or affect on the car or my 4 button key fob so that will be another problem to sort out.
any help or pointers would be great.

Have you checked the pollen/cabin filter?
Frequently overlooked and can become badly clogged and restrict the airflow.

thanks myglaren i will check through the mountain of paperwork to see when it was last changed, its had about £3000 spent on it in the last 2 and abit years so maybe lucky and had it done already.
are there two blowers for the rear as I can only hear one on passengere side louder than the main blower as well.

It isn't unknown for them to be noted as changed at a service but actually ignored.

removed glove box gave the blower a rubber mallet kiss and hey presto every dry leaf particle came out of the vents in a big hurry, its ok the better half was going to hoover the car anyway.
The guy I got the car from did say it had been sitting for about 4 months. checked the direction flap and moving smoothly. got great blowers on the 807.
