Post by doctle »

I can't remove one injector to change a seal and I don't have a puller, any suggestions on how to remove it? Peugeot 307 with a 1.4 HDi engine, thanks

I've seen this method get a stubborn injector out of the 1.6hdi.

Penetrating oil, penetrating oil, penetrating oil. Best to soak over a few days

If the 1.4HDI has same injectors, they have a couple of flats on the upper body that a 24mm open-ended spanner fits from behind so you may have to remove other engine components to get the spanner on the injector. Using the spanner as a lever, gently but firmly rock the injector from side to side but don't use excessive force.

Repeat the above (oiling and rocking) until you can begin to lever the injector up by the clamping bracket. Again, avoid excessive force.

That worked! The 1.4 diesel injector is smaller 13mm spanner fitted on the flats. It took a tin of brake cleaner, half a tin of WD40 and a can of coke to get it out. new seal and protector and all back together. Thanks for the link I was being quoted €3-500.00 for the job!

Here you go, and you can get some pretty car stickers in the process.
